Riad-Hotel Al Khansaa is located behind the Scala, in the centre of Medina in Essaouira, close to the souks and the historic monuments. The house was known in the 19th century as English cultural institution. The building was left in ruins until the owner, a painter, decided to transform it in a charming hotel.
Twelve spacious rooms with en suite bathrooms are distributed on three floors and have a wide fountain of light right in the middle. The large patio with a beautiful fountain sculpture welcomes you in the dinning room where the decor in a Moroccan style blends with the modern.
When you come back from your visit through Essaouira or an excursion in the surrounding areas in the calm of the riad, you can forget about the exhausting day and relax on the great terrace with a panoramic view over the Medina of Essaouira, the Scala and the ocean.

"My boyfriend and I stayed 3 nights at Riad Al khansaa in July 2013 but wished we had stayed longer. We found this lovely riad in the medina after having already booked and paid for another hotel in essouira which unfortunately dissapointed us. Riad Al Khansaa was just the right place to fully enjoy our last three days of holiday, with breakfast in the top roof terrace with direct view on the sea. The Riad is in the Medina but not on the most busy streets and it was amazing to fall asleep with the sound of the waves. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious, clean and colorful! If you have a light sleep we advise you to request a room with inside windows to avoid any of the rare night noises from kids playing outside. But then again....you would also miss out on the waves sound :-) overall this place is a definite 5 for us and one place that we would go back to!"

"I was travelling to Essauira with 3 x 16 year old boys after just finishing our climb on Mount Toubkal, Marrakech and you can imagine how tired we were.
The Riad doesn't have a room with 4 single beds but they went out of their way to give us the largest ensuite room and add another single bed with no extra cost. The room was extremely beutiful and very very comfortable. We slept like rocks!
In the morning, they prepared fried eggs for us (we asked ;) along with the tradtional Morrocan breakfast with generous servings of orange juice and green tea.. at no extra cost
The staff were so friendly that we felt right at home, even when we would return at 23:30 in the evening they would prepare fresh green tea for us .
In summary - I loved it and will be returning with my family!"
