"Bohemian in style with a relaxed atmosphere, an authentic taste of Morocco..."
Nine En-suite Guest Rooms
Located in the Zaouia quarter of the Medina, north of Marrakech's main square, Riad Edward was formerly the home of the Alaoui family, relatives of Morocco’s ruling family. Today, after a careful and faithful restoration, this beautiful riad retains many of its original features with stunning tile-work, carved cedar ceilings and doors, and various local artefacts and rugs scattered around the rooms. The style of the house differs from some of the more modern renovations, this Riad retains a certain shabby chic style reminiscent of a bygone age.
The large traditional house is built around a central courtyard containing a swimming pool which runs between the courtyards' central arches. Traditional Moroccan doors open onto the courtyard from a large sitting room and dining room and the Green bedroom and bathroom.
This boutique hotel has just en-suite 6 Suites and en-suite 3 Rooms which overlook the courtyard and multilevel terraces. The very spacious Douriya Suite has a living room with optional interconnecting bedroom. All bedrooms have heating and air conditioning and some have a fireplace.
The top floor terraces have magnificent views of the town, the Mosques and in winter the distant snow-capped Atlas Mountains.
Base prices are in Euro: Sterling, USD and Moroccan dirham rates will vary by exchange rate.

"The accommodation was beautiful, food great and the service couldn't have been better. The staff looked after us so well, arranging taxi's, guided tours and catered to our every need. It was in a great location and we felt we had done as much as possible in our time there. I would recommend this accommodation as a perfect place to stay for a visit to Marrakech."

"We had a fantastic few days at Riyad Edward, which could not have been a better place to stay. This is a beautiful house which has been sensitively restored in such a way that it retains real character and charm. There is a well kept garden (bougainvillea everywhere) and pool (which was pretty fresh in April but would no doubt be very welcome during the real heat of the summer months), a very comfortable roof terrace and several hidden away spots on other floors round the courtyard where you can relax in almost total privacy.
The staff were all charming and could not have been more helpful. Part of the charm of Riyad Edward is its laid back atmosphere; the stark, fluffy-white-towelness of formal hotels is replaced here with a much cooler, more intimate atmosphere. The owner, Stephen, was entirely unobtrusive but always there to offer help and advice when you asked for it. We thought he ran a very good house here."

"Told you I'd come back. My second time here and it's better than I remember. Thank you again for a truly amazing stay, thanks to all the staff especially Ismael and Mouna for looking after my guests and I so well. Will see you again soon."

"I am happy I have booked at Riad Edward. It is an amazing traditional riad with a beautiful courtyard and a pool in the centre. There are several rooftop terraces, also small and intimate ones – tastefully decorated and absolutely charming. The food is delicious, Moroccan cuisine, reasonably priced. You can have your dinner or breakfast wherever you want.
I have been travelling a lot, but rarely found a place, where the staff was so attentive and always happy to help you with anything you might need. Be it organizing a trip to the atlas mountains or sahara, offering you to meet you in the medina and bring you back to the riad when getting desperately lost, or just having a chat about this and that. Felt as part of the family."

"The free Hipmarrakech App has proved amazing for our clients. It gives them confidence to navigate the medina knowing they can always find their way back our house, even with NO data roaming switched on. Further it locates many restaurants in Marrakech that our guests like (some of which give discounts to those with the App), and then helps them find their way back to the riad easily. Further, they can also book excursions in or around Marrakech at short notice."
